Only

Only the shadow of a dwarf may appear as tall as a king,

Only to a deaf person can a hoarse woman sing.

Only to a prisoner can the priest preach,

Only to the reluctant can a teacher teach.

Only to a blind man can we discuss a book,

Only the starving can learn to cook.

Only a stranger may be a friend,

Only the unbroken can the broken mend.

Only a flight may begin with a fall,

Only death we need not call.

Only I understand what I say,

Only you do not care and are now going away.
