Rich man, poor man
One in a Mercedes, the other in a van
One makes the news on the channel the other watches; c – span
One owns the company the other works in.
One is a sinner, the other suffers because of the sin.
Yet one goes to an empty house and the other goes to a happy home.
One listens to hollow greetings on his answering machine, the other tells bed time stories of Rome.
Take away their bank accounts and you will see,
They aren’t so different, they’re just like you and me.
Human beings living in this world
Unappreciative of the gift of life,
Whining only about our materialistic strife.
Rich Man, Poor Man, Beggar Man, Theif
We all fall to the ground eventually, like a discarded leaf.
