Once free falling, now only Crashing

Wishing to hear your voice over the phone

He sits in darkness, all alone,

Deep down he knows your not calling,

Which is why he’s crashing and no longer free-falling.

Thoughts of the past haunt him day after day,

He tries to move on, but his thoughts will not stray

There must be something he can do to overcome yesterday.

He reaches for the door,

But the candle’s burnt out..

He reaches for the door,

But no one hears him shout.

Then he realizes he’s trapped inside his memory

of you, his never ending reverie.
