One Republic sang that ‘it’s too late to apologize’ while Jojo sang ‘it’s too little too late,’ but you’ve got to wonder, is it ever too late? It might be for a lot of things, but it isn’t for an apology, or a smile, or even a rekindling of a shelved romance.
When a relationship ends, we often say that was its expiry date and opt not to revisit it barring in the refrains of our memories. But was it really the end, or was it the end of a chapter in an extremely large book? If we never try and find out, we’ll never definitely know. They say assumptions are the termites of relationships, and truly they are. In assuming an air of finality around a relationship we allow termites to destroy everything and in the end we are left to sift through ruins. However, if we counter our ‘what ifs’ and ‘it could’ve been’ with a positive mentality and seize the moment, then it will never be too late.
It’s never too late to make amends. Yes the longer we leave it the harder it becomes, but no one can halt genuine determination, and if your affection has withstood the test of time, it will withstand all other tests. Remember, Carpe Diem, Seize the day.
